Northern Kruger Private Photographic Safari
A 7-day private photographic journey through Northern Kruger National Park. Exclusive camp stay, private guide, and abundant wildlife encounters.
Day 1: Pick-Up & Transfer to Northern Kruger
Pick-up from your hotel near Johannesburg Airport (OR Tambo), Nelspruit, or Hoedspruit.
Please note: we don’t recommend direct airport pick-ups due to the distance to the northern regions of the Kruger. Overnight stays near the airport are advised and can be arranged through us.
After meeting your private guide and photographic specialist, begin the scenic drive north toward the park.
Watch South Africa’s landscapes shift from open grasslands to Mopani woodlands as we travel toward the Tropic of Capricorn.
Stop en route for coffee and refreshments before arriving at your private camp near Boulders in the late afternoon.
Settle in, enjoy a welcome drink, and meet your guide for a briefing on the days ahead.
Evening dinner served under the stars with the sounds of the bush around you.
Included: Private transfer, professional photographic guide, dinner
Recommended: Overnight Hotel in Johannesburg/Nelspruit/Hoedspruit prior to departure (available on request)
Day 2: First Light – Photographic Orientation & Game Drive
Early wake-up for your first morning game drive as the park comes alive with light and sound.
Your professional photographic guide will help set up camera gear, refine composition, and guide you on understanding animal behaviour to anticipate great shots.
Return to camp around 9:30–10:00 a.m. for breakfast or brunch and a short rest.
Midday is at leisure — relax at camp or join a one-on-one photo review and settings workshop with your guide.

Return to camp at sunset; enjoy a warm shower and a three-course dinner beside the fire while sharing the day’s captures.

Early start as the bush awakens — coffee in hand, cameras ready.

The day unfolds according to sightings — whether tracking elephants along riverbeds, lions resting in the shade, or herds crossing open grasslands.
Return to camp late morning for breakfast or brunch and leisure time to rest or review your photos.
Afternoon game drive departs after the heat of the day, with opportunities for dramatic light and behavioural photography as the animals begin to stir.
Evening dinner served outdoors beneath the Southern Cross, reflecting on the day’s highlights with your guide.

Northern Kruger Highlights – 7-Day Private Photographic Safari
Venture into one of Africa’s last true wilderness frontiers — the far northern reaches of the Kruger National Park. This exclusive 7-day photographic safari takes you deep into a land shaped by the Mopani woodlands and open grasslands that sway around the Tropic of Capricorn. Here, ancient baobabs rise over wide floodplains, and every sighting feels truly earned.
Your journey begins and ends in Johannesburg, with private transfers to a secluded camp near Boulders in Northern Kruger. Designed for discerning travellers and photographers alike, this experience is fully guided by a professional wildlife photographer who will work alongside your private safari guide to help you master composition, camera settings, and light. Each drive and walk is an opportunity to refine your craft, ensuring you return home with exceptional images and unforgettable memories.
The northern Kruger’s beauty lies in its remoteness — a mosaic of Mopani trees, rocky ridges, and open river systems that attract elephant herds, buffalo, and big cats. Unlike the busier southern reserves, sightings here are raw and intimate. The extra travel time is rewarded with tranquil wilderness, ancient baobab valleys, and pristine photographic conditions.
While the dry months of August to October offer ideal game viewing and soft, golden light for photography, the summer months transform the landscape into a birder’s paradise, with migratory species filling the skies and lush greenery setting the stage for vibrant imagery.
You’ll stay in comfortable accommodation featuring en-suite facilities, cosy furnishings, and the sounds of the bush as your nightly soundtrack. Breakfast and dinner are included daily, while lunch is enjoyed at your leisure — either at camp or en route between photographic sessions.
From the Shingwedzi River floodplains to the baobab-studded ridges, this safari captures the very essence of wild Africa: untamed, soulful, and alive with possibility
